A SPIDERMAN STORY

My health deteriorates. I was worried that it might affect my drawing abilities. Nope, seems like I still got the panache!

A MIGHTY WIND

Not being a comic book collector, most of my observations about Marvel super heroes came from one of the greatest how-to books published. That, quite obviously, was How To Draw Comics - The Marvel Way! What I gleaned from those illuminating pages was that super heroism had it's own fashion trends.

• They liked to wear pirate boots [would Errol Flynn have anything to do with this?].
• Tight pants were the norm.
• Despite the tightness of their pants negating any need for support or suspension, they insisted on wearing belts. Big belts.
• metal arm or wrist bands made you cooler.

And so it is for me to introduce to you, The Mighty Strong, AKA Strong Bro! He has the ability to bend stuff, even breaking things at times! But for good, not evil. He can't fly, but that's okay, because his alter ego, LenRay Featherbottom, has collected a vast sum of air miles from his occupation as an entertainment lawyer.

IF I WAS SPIDERMAN #01

Scratchy. Plus I lost all the detail from the pencils when inking her face. She looks like she was hit with a frying pan to her face. Probably should have used reference for Spiderman. Oh well.

LETTUCE BEGIN

I don't know why this came out looking like Tyra Banks. I wasn't thinking about her or going for a Tyra look, but it happened. And now we just have to deal with it.

America's Next Top Model has to be one of the few formats for a 'reality' shows that works as watch-able viewing. Of course you have the girls walking about in their underoos, but you also get a peek at some useful info from the fashion world, such as lighting in photography, hairstyling, costumes, make-up, how restrictive some clothing and shoes are, and big help to the animator, posing. I know many people will poo-poo the idea that you can learn anything from such a seemingly vapid show, but it's all their to be exploited if you lower your prejudices. Plus a lot of the girls conform to the 'dumb model' stereotype, so there's quite a bit of [unintentional] humour.

THE RESCUER

He'll do anything to get you out of danger - even if it means MURDER!
More bad lettering, the kind of bad lettering I know you love. Joined today by some strange anatomy. He's got his finest Marty McFly jacket on.

7 DAYS BAD LUCK

I noticed I was posting consecutive daily entries, so I decided to go for seven days in a row. Did it, with no encouragement from any of my many, naked, fans in the comment section. Yay me! Don't fear for my health, I'm not making this a daily update site. Although I see it as a good motivation to create something new, even when I don't feel like it. So I won't bind myself officially to being daily, but frequently sounds good to me. It's not up to you, so shut your big face.

Used a reference [not traced] from the show Supernatural for this one. Season 3 with the lucky rabbits foot and the girl with the gun out to collect on a fat paycheque - for those that watch it. This is her. Made up some of the anatomy, like the boObies and her left arm, and torso, plus the hair is loosely based on the real thing. Her gun arm had that funky bend in it, which I didn't think would work, but turned out okay. I did the inks really quick over an even quicker pencil construction, just to see what the result would be. Not too much difference from this previous long-laboured drawing. Then I thought I'd do a more comic style, so I blocked in some heavy shadows. Finally I coloured it poorly. Not intentionally.
